Director of Quality & Compliance
Help us lead the next chapter of hospice care in Northern Illinois by shaping the systems that directly impact how patients and families experience their final days. At Northern Illinois Hospice, you won’t just manage compliance—you’ll define what clinical excellence looks like across an entire nonprofit organization working to become a national leader in both hospice and palliative care.
We’ve been trusted in this community for more than 40 years, and we’re still growing. We recently launched a dedicated palliative care line, and we’re focused on building a five-star program with a culture rooted in education, accountability, and compassion. You’ll work side-by-side with a passionate leadership team that’s driving change and fully committed to doing hospice care the right way.
In this role, you will:
-
Own and lead quality and compliance across the organization
-
Translate data into performance improvement plans that drive real outcomes
-
Guide accreditation readiness and survey preparation
-
Lead QAPI and internal audit efforts
-
Educate staff, coach leaders, and help shape a culture built on patient-first decision making
-
Partner closely with the CEO, Director of Clinical Services, and Board leadership
This role could be a great fit if you:
-
Are a licensed RN in Illinois
-
Hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing (master’s preferred)
-
Have at least five years of quality and compliance leadership experience in hospice or palliative care
-
Know how to apply regulatory standards and drive improvement through collaboration, not just oversight
-
Have led teams or departments and feel confident presenting to executive leadership and the board
-
Either hold or are willing to earn your CHPN certification within a year
-
Either hold or are willing to earn a quality or compliance certification within two years
-
Understand the nuances of accreditation, ideally with Joint Commission experience
-
This is a full-time, onsite role based in Rockford, Illinois
What makes this role different:
-
You’ll work with leaders who care deeply and move quickly
-
You’ll be part of building something that matters, not just maintaining the status quo
-
You’ll influence patient care in a way that actually shows up in satisfaction scores and outcomes
-
You’ll have support, visibility, and space to lead, not just follow checklists
Compensation is competitive with bonus potential, along with excellent benefits, generous PTO, and full support for your professional growth.
