Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) – Full-Time - Skowhegan, ME
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our dynamic anesthesia team. This role involves providing anesthesia care for a variety of medical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the pre-operative, operative, and post-operative phases.
Position Details:
- Status: Full-time, Monday–Friday
- Schedule: No call required
Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage anesthesia for a wide range of surgical and medical procedures.
- Conduct pre-operative patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and developing anesthesia plans.
- Monitor vital signs, anesthesia levels, and overall patient well-being during surgery.
- Respond to adverse reactions or anesthesia-related emergencies as needed.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide post-anesthesia care and assess patient recovery.
- Educate patients and families about anesthesia procedures and risks.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with hospital policies (Meditech EMR documentation required).
- Work in three operating rooms, an endoscopy suite, and an obstetrics unit, covering specialties such as:
- General surgery
- Orthopedics
- Podiatry
- OB/GYN
- Pediatrics (ages 2 and older)
- Must be proficient in endoscopies and labor epidurals.
Qualifications:
- Certified CRNA by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- Licensed to practice as a CRNA in Maine.
- Master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesia or an equivalent program.
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform well in high-pressure and emergency situations.
